dc.description.abstract | This study attempt to find out the use of social media in delivery of reference services by librarians in Federal University of Technology Library, Owerri. The study was guided with three (3) research questions. However survey research design was used for the study with questionnaire as the instrument for data collection, with the target librarians that uses social media in delivery reference services in FUTO Library. Findings from the study indicated the types social media medium employed in their services and discovered a high degree of use. The impact in the Library is without challenges, which ranges from insufficient content in the resources, lack of competent staff, epileptic power supply and many more; but the study further recommended that the Librarians’ should be more skilled for research enablement in the library for better social media library services in the 21st century library services. | |
